Do the kids receive a salary?
Yes, all of our youth are provided with a salary above minimum wage. Providing a salary to participants, a crucial aspect of the program, encourages them to take responsibility for themselves, their team, and the stores, fostering a sense of pride and self-worth.
Do you pickup clothing?
We are only able to do on site collections for a minimum of 10 large garbage bags of clothing. However, donations may be brought directly to our stores during opening hours.
Where does the money go?
All of the items in our stores are sold at low prices and the stores do not make profit. Sales income provides funding for the operations of the organization.
How long are the youth employed and what happens when they finish?
Ani Shlishi hires its youth participants for the duration of a 4 - 6 month program, individually providing guidance throughout. . As they graduate the program, participants are entered into Ani Shlishi’s alumni program, in which they continue to build the tools necessary to successfully integrate in the workforce and succeed in life.
What happens to the clothes if they are not sold?
All items that are not sold are either recycled or donated to other nonprofits serving vulnerable populations.
